Aged for 30 months in wood and another 8 months in the bottle give this wine an elegant structure. This traditional blend made primarily with Sangiovese (or Prugnolo Gentile) is translated the “Noble Wine” and has been served to nobility for centuries. Enjoy with roasted meat.

This wine spends 36 months in Oak giving it "Riserva" status and a richer, more complex taste and structure than the Mulinvecchio. This Riserva has violet aromas and well balanced tannins, perfect with roasted meat or game.

The Contucci History

As one of the oldest and most famous families in the town of Montepulciano in the Siena province, the Contuccis have been cultivating grapes and world class wine since the Renaissance.  The family is cited as one the “founding fathers” of Vino Nobile, one of the oldest Italian wines made primarily from Sangiovese (or Prugnolo gentile), and destined for the tables of “gentle folk.”  Today the family carries on this legacy striving to produce the highest quality wine by combining centuries of tradition with new ideas.  The Contucci estate and cellars are a popular destination for tourists all over the world who are drawn by the old-world Italian charm and the opportunity to taste the famous and delicious Vino Nobile.  Enjoy a glass and experience a fine Tuscan delight and one of Italy’s best wines- Salute!
