Perticaia
Umbria, Italy

Nestled in the mountainous, landlocked region of Umbria lies the beautiful vineyards of Perticaia.  Founded by Guido Guardigli and named after the ancient Umbrian word for plow, Perticaia seeks to honor the age-old connection with the land.  The bulk of the vineyards are planted with Sagrantino, the flagship grape of Umbria.  All harvests are entirely manual, the fermentation is triggered naturally, and the aging takes place in French Oak barrels producing beautiful, high quality wines with a distinctly Umbrian personality.
