Lujan de Cuyo, Argentina

Carlos Arturo Celasso began planting vines in the Maipu district in 1973, since then the entire family has been passionately involved in viticulture. The family project Bodega Viamonte was established in 2007 with the goal of producing first- rate wines that are modern, balanced, easy to drink, and truly reflect the unique vineyards in Vistalba, Lujan de Cuyo- a county known worldwide for wine quality. At Bodega Viamonte excellent grapes are combined with advanced technology, and years of winemaking experience to produce unique wines that are a reflection the family.

Viamonte Malbec Single Vineyard 2011

100% Malbec Alcohol: 14.2% Total Cases Produced: 2,222
Aromas of crushed blueberries and red currants meet hints of cedar on this medium-bodied Malbec. Processed in stainless steel tanks this wine is smooth and juicy, it presents flavors of black cherry, tobacco and plump raspberry, with spicy tannins on a racy finish. Try with carnitas tacos, meatballs with tomato sauce, or rich meat empanadas.

   

Viamonte Cabernet Sauvignon Single Vineyard 2011

100% Cabernet Sauvignon Alcohol: 14.2% Total Cases Produced: 1,555
Flavors of juicy black currant and dried cranberries meet hints of cinnamon on this medium-bodied Cab. Aged 8 months in oak, it is plush with balanced acidity, it presents flavors of plum sauce, black cherry cola and spice cake, with hints of vanilla on a rich and spicy finish. Pair with slightly earthy meat-based dishes, like barbequed brisket, lamb kebabs, or a French dip sandwich.

   

Viamonte Reserva Malbec 2010

100% Malbec Alcohol: 14.2% Total Cases Produced: 1,200*
Grown on vines planted in 1912 this Reserva was aged for 12 months in French Oak. It has aromas of dark berries and plum with touches of earth and sage. Rich, lush, and sexy, it presents flavors of currants, quince, and chocolate with hints of black pepper and a velvety smooth finish. Try it with carnitas tacos, meat empanadas, or rich duck with plum sauce.
